Well if you are with a company that does not allow requests, theres not much you can do to help your numbers other than be available as much as possible. Repeat callers are the bread and butter of this industry no matter what the ecomony is doing.

I dunno, I work for usachatlines... and it seems to me that the busy times are actually getting slow. i can log in on a friday night and not get a single call for over 2 hours any more.

I am sure some of you ladies that have been in this business for a long time are still doing very well. I am happy for you all. It is that way in any business the longer you been doing it the better you are at it. You have been there done that so to speak. I have been in this business about two years and I am better now than I was in the beginning. You all are a rare breed . Like some of you said clients do move on and I am sure that's what has happened and some are not calling as much as...

We're not slow. Our April '09 numbers were 11% above our April '08 sales and 89% above our April '07 numbers. January did slow down to about 2% lower than January '08 but February began the recovery and by March we were back to above our '08 numbers.

I'd just like to say.. the last two weeks have been PRE-Recession minutes Even the part time girls are easily making their goals...

Only real, bad slowdown I saw was beginning of February.. then beginning of March.... Since then.. we've been perfectly A-Okay....

From October til probably April 10th.. there was a consistent slowdownish trend.. maybe being off 10-15% at the worst...... but since April...

Its sad you people can't /won't admit it, you know its slow! Even the Bunny Ranch in Nevada is experiencing a slow down, but you guys are not willing to say its so. Thats ok.........you know it even if you won't admit it. I am not a whiner, just an honest, kind of gal.

Yup, good posts in this thread for sure!

The meaning of the quote "It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness" means that it is better to DO SOMETHING to "brighten things up" as opposed to sitting around and complaining about how bad things are. In no way does it mean to be blindly and foolishly pollyanna-ish or to just sit around talking happy talk. "Positive thinking" isn't what optimism and motivation are all about....but...

From the perspective of a no smoke up the ass, owner..
I can tell you that calls are down about 10% here. I can also tell you that the only women SEEING that.. are the under 30-40 hours per week women who were just riding traffic... My veterans are still making what they were making... There's just not charity calls out there for the girls who were half assing it... You guys know the ones...

Its not about kicking anyone -down or otherwise. But for someone to paint the entire industry with a negative brush due to an unfortunate experience or a negative outlook is just wrong.

Yes the economy is bad, no one is denying that. But to paint the whole industry with one persons (soured) paintbrush is wrong.
Some of us choose to look at things optimistically. Such as .... I still get to work at home and never have to leave my home for the cold and snow. I still make more money than anyone I know and get to do it...

I agree with you, Motown. The economy is in the toilet, and it is affecting call volume. There are fewer positions open to be had, and everybody I know says they are getting less call volume than when the economy was booming. I end up giving out more free minutes to my best customers who have lost their jobs so they can still call. When I advertise, I get fewer calls for my $$.

The internet is anonymous. Americans love to scapegoat people when they're down, and this industry...

and one more thing I forgot to mention........most of the companies I have worked for in the past, have tough people who are not so nice to work for. They really are quite stern and they will take you off for no reason. There are many restrictions too. Unless you are your own boss, you will have to combat all this and more, and so where are the perks there? They make you adhere to a schedule too. Not what I would call not having a boss, or perks.

hey, no one is whining, just stating the true facts. I refuse to believe you guys are making as much as you were 2 yrs ago. If you have to work round the clock to make a living, that is no fun. I have never seen any company that pays you by the hour, so if you know the names of some of them, please say who they are. I have researched this to no end and have found no such company.

I am a good operator. I have had steady customers. Guys who have maxxed out their credit cards to call...

I am a pso and over the past week it has unusally slow . I was logged in 8 hours yesterday and only recieved 3 calls. This is a huge drop in the number I usually get. Just thought I check and see how everyone else is doing?
