Hi, I am a newbie and seriously considering becoming a PSO. I am a full time student studying in the law/security field. A lot of the graduates would be
hired by the government agencies such as sheriff department etc.
I live in USA...I heard by getting hired in the government, they will do a detailed background check. What if they find out you worked for adult entertainment
such as WETDITA, would that ruin your opportunity?
Any advice are much appreciate it! This is very important for me. I really need the money but if i have to run the risk of ruining my credibility with the
future employer, i will have to reconsider it.

If you're worried about it affecting the job you truly want, don't do it. The money won't be that great for a newbie anyway. Find a vanilla job and
have no worries.
Some might tell you if what you do is legal, it won't affect your chances. But that's not always true. I know a girl who stripped to pay her way through a pricey top-notch private university. She wanted to be a pre-school and kindergarten teacher. Fully qualified, outstanding grades, extracurricular activities, recommendations, she couldn't get hired...not our sort, would give the wrong impression of our institution, questionable judgment, blah blah. Prospective employers seemed to assume she would spontaneously start playing Joan Jett's Cherry Bomb on a boom box and chair the five-year-olds. Only turn to sex work to make a living when you've decided to give the straight world the finger. My 2ยข |

I agree with Wanda. It might not be right or fair or strictly legal, but that's how it is. I gave the vanilla world the finger a long time ago and will
never look back but if you have other aspirations, think carefully before making the leap.

I don't think it would be that serious of a background check unless you were high level government anyways.

I was investigated for my previous job working for the feds in Washington, DC. I recall having someone asking questions about me in my college and even went
back to my high school teachers. This was when I was 19, living at home and had never done anything even the slightest bit interesting--lol. It was also about
100 years ago so I would imagine that the investigations would be more stringent now, although I've never been investigated by any local authorities, which
could be totally different.
You could try asking exactly what the investigation entails. Whether you'll get a completely honest answer is anyone's guess. |

I would say that if they look at your tax returns, they're going to see the 1099's. So you'd probably be okay if you worked something like
Niteflirt, where they don't give you a 1099 and you're just running a cash business, so long as you have a good explanation for what you were doing for
your money.
