While using content for other characters, you can also use yourself. Not only is your content, as Jennifer said, unique to you, you can refresh it any time you want. With some easily learned photographic skills, you can take your own photos, so there is no cost in producing them other than for the camera, tripod, lights, reflectors, etc, and backgrounds--which you can make yourself for practically nothing, or you can take photos outside.
You can also sell customized photo sets at premium prices, just the same as you sell customized audio files. Guys love to send you lingerie or other items and have you model for them. Many are more than happy to then have you sell the items back to them.
If you use yourself as a model, you can also do cam, either live or as vids. Videos are good money, and custom vids even better money. Guys will pay serious money if you, for example, wear outfits, or play with stuffed animals, or other things that they send you while making a special video for them and then return the items with the video.
You can also make slide shows, gifs or flash loops and sell them.
If you are doing the "invisible girlfriend" thing, then, of course, you have to use yourself.
Watermark your photos and videos so that if someone steals them you can prove ownership and have them taken down.
As to problems that may be caused by using your own content, you need to consider your personal situation, where you live and what the local standards are. It's like prostitution. In the USA, outside of some parts of Nevada, it's illegal, and doing it may get you in trouble, but in Germany it is legal, the government will issue you a license and you have to collect VAT from customers.
ETA: If you are using your own content, you can change your appearance by using colored contact lenses to change your eye color, dying your hair (Herbal Essence and Clairol both make temporary dyes, and there are spray-ons) or wearing a wig. Using different make-up than you normally do can also make a difference in your appearance.
