Determine what type of company you are wanting to work for: Dispatch, Direct Dial, Combo, and so forth. 2. Read up on the board .. check the employment section for companies that are hiring, check out Sexyjobs and AdultStaffing 3. Decide what company(ies) you are suited for and that are suited for you. Do a search on the board to find any post pertaining to the company(ies) you would like to interview with. 4. Then decide which ones to contact for an interview. Contact them. 5. If you are new to POSing I strongly suggest reading the post in the newbies sections. They explain the different types of companies, how to open a call, and so on. **If anyone else has suggestions please post them here. Thank you and Good Luck! Posts: 492 02/10/06 08:59:29 Moderator	Just something about safety and "scam" companies... There are sites online like sexyjobs.com where you can post an online "resume" of sorts. It often asks for contact info such as email address and phone number. Anyone can sign up and claim they are an "employer" and get that info, so I reccomend NOT putting your phone number on there, just an email address (and possibly make a junk yahoo address for this so you don't get spam). Once the company emails you back, ask them the name of the company, how long they've been in business, their website, and any other questions to see what kind of co. they are, etc. Do not give any address or phone info before getting this info. If they don't have a website yet, ask why. If you feel uncomfortable, come on here and look for the company or ask if anyone's heard of them. Most importantly, don't sell yourself short. Don't do anything you feel "pushed" into... the person representing the company should do their best to make you feel comfortable, especially if you're new to the business ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Are you gonna live your life standing in the back looking around? Posts: 304 02/10/06 09:44:57	I would also say beware of a company wanting you to do a test call or recording prior to employment. Many times this is just a horny guy wanting a freebie. If they are internet based, make sure they have a site and the contact is a domain email and not a free service such as yahoo, hotmail or gmail.

It usually says something like "go to this site and apply" or "send an email or PM to me." If it says this, it is your best bet to contact the employer in the way stated in the listing. Usually these employers post their listing to a lot of sites and will not come back to see if you reply to their thread instead. So, if you would like to apply for the job, unless it says "leave a message here on this topic," it is not the best thing to leave a response to the thread stating "I want to work for you, contact me at my email address if you're interested in hiring me."
